SMS Consent

Effective April 30, 2026

Zania sends SMS messages to users who explicitly opt in. This page describes when and why we send messages, what they look like, and how to stop receiving them. It is provided publicly so that U.S. carriers and The Campaign Registry (TCR) can verify our opt-in flow.

A. How Users Opt In

A user opts in to receive Zania's SMS program messages by entering their mobile phone number on the sign-up or sign-in screen of the Zania iOS app and affirmatively checking the SMS consent checkbox presented directly alongside the consent disclosure. The checkbox is optional and unchecked by default — the user can decline it and still continue using the app. The same screen displays links to this page, our Privacy Policy, and our Terms of Service before the user submits their number. Checking the SMS consent checkbox constitutes the user's explicit, prior, opt-in consent to receive SMS messages of the types listed below from Zaniaat the number provided. The one-time verification passcode itself is a transactional message sent in response to the user's own request to sign in; the optional checkbox governs ongoing program messages.

A visual reference of the full opt-in process is shown below. Screen A shows the consent checkbox (the moment of opt-in); Screen B is the subsequent verification step demonstrating the SMS is actually received.

Screen A. The Zania iOS sign-up screen — phone-number field, an optional, unchecked-by-default SMS consent checkbox presented directly alongside the full consent text, with tappable links to this SMS Consent page, the Privacy Policy, and the Terms of Service. Checking the box is the explicit opt-in action; it is not required to continue.

Screen B. The verification step. After consent, the user receives the 6-digit OTP via SMS and enters it here. Together with Screen A this demonstrates the complete opt-in process: phone entry, explicit consent, SMS delivery, and verification.

B. Message Types

Zania's SMS program is limited to verification and account security messages only. After a user opts in, Zania may send the following categories of SMS messages to the number on file:

  • Verification codes — one-time 6-digit codes sent at sign-up and sign-in to confirm ownership of the phone number.
  • Account & security— occasional transactional messages tied to the user's account, such as password reset codes and security alerts on the user's own account.
  • HELP / STOP responses — required carrier responses to the keywords described in Section E.

Zania does not send marketing, promotional, event-reminder, host-announcement, or event-invite messages over SMS. All such notifications are delivered exclusively via in-app push notifications. Zania does not share your phone number with third parties for their own marketing.

C. Frequency

Message frequency varies based on the user's authentication activity — primarily one verification code per sign-up or sign-in event, plus occasional password-reset codes and security alerts. A typical user receives one to two SMS messages per session and none at all between sessions.

D. Rates

Message and data rates may apply. Zania does not charge for SMS messages, but your wireless carrier may. Check with your carrier for details about your plan.

E. STOP & HELP

You can unsubscribe from Zania SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us. After you reply STOP, you will receive one final confirmation message and no further SMS messages from Zania until you opt in again.

Reply HELP to any Zania SMS message to receive a response with our support contact information. You can also email us directly at support@getzania.com.

The keywords STOP, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, and QUIT are all honored as opt-out requests.

F. Privacy

Phone numbers collected for SMS opt-in are not shared with or sold to third parties for marketing purposes. SMS opt-in data is used solely to send the message types described in Section B. For full details on how Zania handles personal information, see our Privacy Policy.
